Domestic Violence, Coercive Control and Child Wellbeing: Putting the Revolution Back on Course

Tuesday July 29 , 2008

  • By: Center on Domestic Violence
  • Location:
    Denver , CO

The training will take place at Saint Cajetan's on the Auraria Campus on Tuesday, July 29th. It will include two workshops. In the morning session Dr. Stark will discuss how our failure to recognize and respond to batterer's coercive control has stalled the domestic violence movement and stymied the criminal justice system. The second workshop will center on batterer's use of child custody to control and how advocates can help families negotiate the morass of the often conflicting, contradictory and sometimes disturbing approaches taken by the courts in these matters.
