Governor to appoint new county court judge

The Twenty-Second Judicial District Nominating Commission met in Dove Creek on Dec. 20, 2004, to consider candidates for a vacancy on the county court. This vacancy was created by the non-retention of the Honorable Susan Whicher. Two nominees were selected and certified to the Governor. They are Ernest D. Boyd of Dove Creek and Gregory A. Deems of Cahone.

Under the Colorado Constitution, the Governor has 15 days from Dec. 21, 2004, within which to appoint one of the nominees as the county judge for Dolores County.
