New Resource about Social Security Privatization

At a hearing about design issues with private accounts in Social Security, held on June 23 by the House Ways and Means Social Security Subcommittee, testimony by the National Women’s Law Center raised a series of questions about how, precisely, the funds in a private account would be paid out to try to make up for cuts in the benefits that Social Security provides, not just when individual workers retire, but for workers and spouses, surviving spouses, divorced spouses and children - when workers retire, die, or are disabled.
