Job Title: Office Assistant - Part Time Internship


Job Description: This position is an entry level part time position that will provide administrative support for the Family Economic Security Program at the Colorado Center on Law and Policy. The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: supporting ongoing events and volunteer opportunities related to statewide collaborative efforts including coordinating focus groups and testimonies around public assistance and actively building coalition amongst human service providers, their staffs and their clients. Candidate must be able to balance multiple tasks in order to reach on-going deadlines; provide assistance to internal and external constituents; track program expenses and evaluations. Candidate must have experience preparing events and volume mailings, as well as serving as liaison between agencies and volunteers. Candidate must have the flexibility to work nights and weekends if needed. This internship will provide opportunity to learn and develop skills specific to creating, reviewing and building policy.

Desired Skills & Experience: The desired qualifications for this position are: 2 or more years experience or knowledge of the Denver Metro area non-profit community; knowledge of human service delivery systems and/or public assistance policy; experience as an independent contract worker; highly reliable, organized and self-motivated; excellent follow through and attention to detail; ability to adapt quickly to changes in workload or priorities; pleasant and professional communication skills; knowledge of standard office procedures and equipment such as multiple line phones, fax, copy and mailing machines. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Xcel. Reliable transportation, valid driver's license and insurance a must. Hourly rate $9.00-$12.00, depending on experience.
