District court judge finalists selected

Governor to appoint new district court judge

The Ninth Judicial District Nominating Commission met in Glenwood Springs on July 17, 2006, to consider candidates for a vacancy on the district court. This vacancy occurred because of the death of the Honorable T. Peter Craven. Three nominees were selected and certified to the Governor. They are Mark E. Hamilton, Denise K. Lynch, and Jamie J. Roth, all of Carbondale.

Under the Colorado Constitution, the Governor has 15 days from July 18, 2006, within which to appoint one of the nominees as district court judge for the Ninth Judicial District.
