Governor To Appoint New Judge

The Second Judicial District Nominating Commission met in Denver on Jan. 30, 2007, to consider candidates for a vacancy on the district court. This vacancy occurred because ofthe resignation of the Honorable Lawrence A. Manzanares. Three nominees were selected and certified to the Governor. They are Norman D. Haglund, William W. Hood III and William J. Martinez, all of Denver.

Under the Colorado Constitution, the Governor has 15 days from Jan. 31, 2007, within which to appoint one of the nominees as district court judge for the Second Judicial District.
