Pro Bono Volunteer Spotlight - Anna Paschke - April 2007

Tuesday, May 01, 2007

  • Organization: Colorado Legal Services
Less than 24 hours after being sworn in to practice law in Colorado, Anna Paschke was in Court handling her first family law case for Metro Volunteer Lawyers (MVL). She actually had to call Attorney Regulation to ask for her bar number moments before she walked into Court with her client.

Since moving to Colorado last summer, Anna has donated hundreds of hours to MVL. Prior to being licensed, she helped with administrative tasks such as; preparing cases to file, arranging for service of process, conducting legal research, closing cases, etc. She also provided significant help in the planning and execution of MVL's 40th anniversary party. Since receiving her license, Anna has taken some of the more challenging cases for MVL and she has consistently volunteered in the Family Law Court Program. She also provides administrative assistance whenever MVL needs it.

Volunteering is nothing new for Anna. As a law student, she worked with the Missouri Coalition for the Environment, Habitat for Humanity in St. Louis, and worked as a student attorney at the Saint Louis University Legal Clinic. She has also been very involved in local dance communities for over a decade.

Metro Volunteer Lawyers could never serve the thousands of clients that we assist each year, without the commitment and compassion of our volunteers like Anna Paschke. Thank you Anna!
