The Mesa County Pro Bono Project presented Richard Hall with the Charlie Traylor Pro Bono Award in recognition of his significant commitment to pro bono representation of low-income individuals. Hall was recently honored at a Mesa County Bar Association luncheon.
Hall graduated from the University of Denver School of Law and practiced law with a small firm in Denver before moving to Grand Junction to start his own practice. He is a member of the Pro Bono 100-Hour Club. Much of his work has been in the area of dissolution of marriage, including representation of victims of domestic violence.
The Charlie Traylor Pro Bono Award was named for Grand Junction attorney Charles (Charlie) Traylor, who diligently worked to represent the disadvantaged at no cost. Throughout his career, Traylor made himself available "to fight the hard fights" for those who lacked the financial resources to hire an attorney.
