The Colorado Lawyers Committee, a small 27-year-old nonprofit, seeks a three-fourths time Associate Director to start September 1, 2005. The Colorado Lawyers Committee is a consortium of 43 law firms that provides pro bono services for children, the poor and underprivileged. The primary focus of the organization is on systems change, not individual representation. An Associate Director is needed to assist the Executive Director with coordinating volunteer attorneys who work on 20 task forces, developing new projects, recruiting new participating law firms, encouraging attorney involvement in CLC projects, and coordinating projects and information with community groups and agencies. Law degree required. Knowledge of the Denver legal community and prior nonprofit experience preferred. The successful candidate must effectively and pleasantly communicate orally and in writing with persons from a wide variety of backgrounds. Downtown location. Salary is $37,500 per year for 30 hours per week. Medical insurance and other benefits included. Equal opportunity employer. The position closes July 22, 2005.
