WAYS AND MEANS RECONCILIATION PACKAGE TARGETS KEY LOW-INCOME PROGRAMS

The House Ways and Means Committee approved its set of reconciliation proposals on October 26.[1] The budget resolution that passed in April requires the Ways and Means Committee to cut programs under its jurisdiction by $1 billion over the next five years, but the Ways and Means proposals would cut programs under its jurisdictions by $8 billion, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO).
