Jan. electric bills to be cut by 6%

Friday, December 02, 2005

Colorado customers of Xcel Energy will receive a holiday gift in their January energy bill - a reprieve from recent sharp increases in electricity costs. In a filing with state regulators Thursday, Xcel proposed to lower typical residential electric bills by 6 percent, or $3.71 a month, from current levels. Small-business bills would fall by an average of $7.63.
